"One Killing Spree Later..."

Films: 28 Days Later (2002), 28 Weeks Later (2007)

Alias: Various

Type: Mutant

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: It's a different zombie apocalypse this time around. Here, no one had to die. They just had to get really angry. Okay, we've seen this premise at least once before...but never on a scale like this...

History: Somewhere in the British lands, Cambridge University was testing on chimpanzees a sort of "rage virus", either for weaponization or to cure people of their nastier impulses. Alas, it had the opposite effect, and worse, some animal rights activists set the ape free. From there, people got infected with the virus. 28 days later, and all of London is infected with a virus that reduces them to snarling, violent monsters that kill everything with no regard for their own survival or safety.

Notable Kills: Sometimes, the things we see in this film are too grotesque to put into words. Not gonna happen here. Nope.

Final Fate: At first, the containment is a success, and just about everyone infected dies of starvation. But then some more hijinks happened, and now the infected stand a terrifying chance to spreading throughout the continent...

Powers/Abilities: The infected will drop everything just to kill you, regardless of how much is in their way. They are eternal berserkers.

Weakness: Because they're so angry, they give no thought to anything like safety, hunger, or basic survival instinct.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-Zombies are horrifying to look at. These are...also horrifying to look at (their eyes...). But Jesus Christ, they don't even want to eat you. They just want to kill, kill, KILL!!! And boy howdy, the killings they partake in...

Trivia: -The first film is single-handedly responsible for resurrecting (ha!) the formerly frankly awful filming career of Danny Boyle.

-Originally, the virus was supposed to be already widespread across the world, but then they decided to just keep it in Europe in order to make the horror much more personal.

It's all you can do, sometimes.

"Sniper's a good job, mate!"

Some of them look like they'd rather be somewhere else.

Week 666: Just End it all

"We brought our passes! Let us rip you asunder!"
Bedtime for Bonzo and Humanity.

Burning Man goes horribly wrong.
